Having dealt directly with countless plumbers since joining the business in 2004, Troy has built a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable guys in the plumbing and pipe maintenance industry. There’s no problem he can’t help with and no blockage he can’t help blast through, which makes him the perfect guy to head up our sales and marketing team.
As the grandson of Founder Ralph Wiggins and son of James Wiggins, our Co-Founder and CEO, it’s no surprise that Troy spent his school holidays packing spare parts in the warehouse.
A fast learner, pretty soon he was talking to plumbers, taking orders, helping with tenders and learning the tricks of the trade. When the business shifted to specialise in jetting and pipe maintenance, Troy was given the role of hitting the phones and talking to plumbers about the gear they needed.
In just a few years – backed by quality Aussie products and the committed family team – Troy had built a database of 15,000+ plumbers and SEWERQUIP was shipping jetters and gear to loyal customers across Australia.
A walking knowledge bank
This hands-on experience working with plumbers on the job every day gave Troy a deep understanding of their challenges and requirements.
Plus, because SEWERQUIP’s products are designed and engineered in-house, led by Troy’s brother Brent, they all knew the products inside out and back to front.
Supporting customers big or small
While Troy leads the advice, product sales and support for the plumbing industry, everyone works closely as a team.
For example in 2014, shortly after launching the commercial-grade RANGER Truck Jetters the business won a tender to supply 30 custom trucks to a major State Water Authority. A huge stretch at the time.
“My brother Brent ran this process to custom-design the trucks right down to the specific storage, toolboxes and racks needed. Big or small, all our product designs are driven by talking to customers to learn exactly what they need in the trenches.”
Products and relationships built to last
“We don’t just sell and move on. We pride ourselves on after sales service and building long term partnerships. As an Aussie manufacturer, it’s quality and local service that sets us apart,” says Troy.
“There’s a lot of low quality gear around these days, but we’re not in that space. We’ve always loved helping Aussie plumbers get quality tools that do the job well and last a long time.”
“Having been around so long and built up a trusted reputation, our regulars come to us because we have good tools and know what we’re doing. We’re also at the end of the phone, or nearby, if we’re needed.”
Committed to Aussie plumbers
In 2021, SEWERQUIP rebranded to Enviroline to better reflect the growing diversity of products and customers beyond pipe maintenance, however Troy will remain focused on the plumbing industry.
“We’ve always been passionate about innovation and new products, but we remain 100% committed to Aussie plumbers and councils. The SEWERQUIP name and range will stay central to the business and will remain my focus.
With family roots already extending back over five decades, the Wiggins are here to stay.
“This has been a family business from the start. Brent and I both have young ones running around, so one day we’re looking forward to the fourth generation of Wiggins coming on board!”
